This is the first thriller I have ever read and I was impressed!! This book made me love thrillers! Both the starting and the ending lines were iconic. This book took away my ability to trust authors 😭

I always thought it's an overrated book but i was wrong. It gripped my attention from the start and i wasn't able to stop talking about it. My mind was thinking about the plot 24/7. When i got to know the plot I was staring at the wall and recalling everything I read. I must say I'll suggest me for sure. And it was worth my time. And I'll surely check out that author's other books too. I can reread it again and again and again. I didn't even imagine the plot. I was annotating everything so that I'll be able to find the culprit and find the plot but BOOOMMMM i failed miserably. When I found out the culprit I was shocked yet smiling. No spoilers ofcourse.

The novel is well-written and filled with suspense, unexpected twists, and intriguing characters. The author's storytelling creates an atmosphere of mystery that encourages readers to keep turning the pages. The biggest strength of the book is its shocking ending, which completely changes the reader's understanding of the events.

I enjoyed the book because it combines psychology, mystery, and drama in an interesting way. The characters are complex, and their emotions and motivations are explored in depth. However, some parts of the story move slowly, especially in the middle chapters.

Overall, The Silent Patient is an excellent thriller that offers suspense, psychological depth, and a memorable twist. I would recommend it to readers who enjoy mystery and psychological fiction

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides is a psychological thriller built around a murder mystery and mental trauma. I had it on my reading list for years, but kept putting it off because my experience with popular books usually hasn’t been that pleasant. Then someone gifted the book, and another person suggested reading it, so I finally picked it up.

The novel is about Alicia Berenson, a woman who shot her husband and... since then, has stopped speaking at all. Now, a psychotherapist, Theo Faber, is obsessed with her case. And he tries to understand what really happened.

The novel has a dual timeline, one with Theo’s current interactions with Alicia at The Grove, and another is Theo’s past personal life. It also lists some of Alicia’s diary entries about her past.

One thing I definitely liked about it is how addictive the book is. The writing is simple, the chapters are short, and new developments keep happening every few pages. Even though the setup is monotonous (mostly just the hospital), the story keeps you hooked.

It keeps you guessing till the very end. Several reveals occur throughout the story, and one major development is right on the last page. So, there’s always something pushing the story forward.

It’s kind of fast-paced, probably because the chapters were short. I could easily read just one more chapter before putting the book down for the day.

But then, just because it doesn’t have any action and adventure, it felt long and never-ending at times – almost like how I felt while reading Gone Girl.

The real twist also felt a bit underwhelming. I was fully invested in the story, yes, and I didn’t see that coming, also yes, but I was expecting something bigger, I guess. It didn’t leave me with that “OMG, what did I just read?” feeling. Maybe my expectations were high.

And as I’m writing this, I think diary entries were just used for the author’s convenience. They were a tad incomplete. I don’t know what I’m trying to say; it just felt odd. I think the author could just have told the story instead of presenting something as diary entries.

Still, I’d say I enjoyed The Silent Patient. It’s best suited for lovers of psychological thrillers. It’s a fast-paced, easy-to-read suspense novel.

It was the first book I read after my years of reading slump and it did not disappointed me. It was engaging and thrilling. The ending was unpredictable and it made my brain fog. All and all it was a must read book from start till end. I couldn’t put it away for a second. Truly a page turner.

I was very skeptical about this book when i bought this book, I did not read the reviews, but, most poeple said that this is one of the best thriller books you would read.

Now, Coming to the book the book follows 2 narratives of 2 different perspectives hand in hand and the the narration is simple stratight forward and sometimes gets you a good laugh at how foolish the characters behave, but, I must say the end twist after all the build up and trying to showcase things in a very different view its one of the best thriller books i have read.

The charcter Alicia is a one of a kind hardly has any dialouges in the book but, created an impact such that its almost impossible to understand the reason she chose silence and never opened her mouth till the very end.

I have to say this the doctor did one of the best things in the whole book but, sometimes, love for one person is the reason things fall apart completely for others.
